Essay on INDIA THE BEST FOREIGN MARKET - 852 Words

INTRODUCTION When determining if a foreign country is a good market to expand into, many factors will help choose which market is best. These factors include Culture, Politics and Law, the Current National Economy, Market Size and Demand, Human Resources, and Financial Resources and Profitability. The factors listed above are not all-inclusive, but give a well-defined checklist to compare other markets. These factors will be discussed and prove that India is a great market to expand into for Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) services. CULTURE India, as we know it today, is a relatively young nation. The Republic of India gained independence from Great Britain on August 15, 1947, but has had a continuous civilization†¦show more content†¦Proper business etiquette begins with addressing the senior person first, and realizing that the name may indicate to which Caste the person belongs. (Doing business in,) Another important fact to remember about the Indian Culture is that the Indians view time differently than Americans do. This is important to remember when scheduling and showing up for meetings. An Indian executive may show up late for a meeting, but this is not considered disrespectful. (Doing business in,) Understanding the culture will help to create trust between the business partners and will make the negotiations smoother. POLITICS AND LAW The Indian government has three distinct branches: Executive, Judiciary, and Legislative. The House of the People (Lok Sabha) and the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) comprise the Parliament, the Legislative branch. The Lok Sabha is the larger of the two houses with 552 members. This House controls the money bills, and the money needed for the administration of the Government. (â€Å"National Portal of,†) The Rajya Sabha cannot introduce a money bill, but requests amendments be made to financial bills. The two houses work together on all bills, and members can take part in proceedings in either house, but can only vote in the house he/she is a member.
